If I could pass a law:
I'd try to do everything I can to ensure that the way we educate our children and ourselves is in touch with the modern threats to ourselves, our health and our communities.

If I was a shape-shifter, I’d turn into:
I would turn into an owl, because I think that owls have a way of seeing the world that I would like to share. Talons and wings are also a plus.
Most memorable outdoor moment:
My most memorable outdoor moment was hiking to the Gobbler's Knob fire lookout in Mount Rainier National Park with coworkers, neighbors and friends while working at the park in the summer of 2010. We backpacked from the bottom of a gray canyon through many levels of forest into the mountaintop meadows, past old-growth stands and mountain lakes to reach the lookout, which is basically a glass box with cots and a stove on top of a high ridge. The view was sublime. Despite the exhaustive hike, we stayed up for hours enjoying each other's company and taking in as much of the splendor around us as we could.
